A Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy

Uncle SamI know I’m not going to make any friends, but that’s not why I’m here. I have to say something, before it’s too late. There’s a vast communist organization in America, and almost no one is aware of it. Money is being taken directly from hard-working Americans and funneled toward people who are choosing not to work. And the government is not only not stopping it, it’s actively promoting it. Of course, I’m talking about the Social Security Administration.

Before you reflexively think I’m crazy, take a moment to consider the facts. Social Security is not a system that you pay into and then get your money back later. That’s just not how it works. The money that is paid into the system by today’s workers is transferred directly to today’s Social Security recipients. This is redistribution of wealth, pure and simple, from the haves to the have-nots. Or to put it another way: From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs.

And that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that the very existence of Social Security disincentivizes hard work.  If you’ve got Social Security waiting for you in your old age, then (1) why would you waste your youth working hard and saving money for retirement? And (2) why wouldn’t you just loaf in your old age rather than being a productive part of the American work force? No, Social Security is one of the the worst ideas America ever had. It hurts the economy and is making our elderly soft and weak. Like old, old veal.

This may not be a widely held opinion, but that doesn’t make it any less correct. Communism.
