Punishing Success

Health CareAt 11:35pm HR 4872 (the bill containing the ‘fixes’ to the Senate bill) has passed 220 to 211.

Well, I hope you enjoyed America while it lasted. The House just passed the Senate health care reform bill, and the fixes, which essentially ensures that some form of Obamacare will be enacted.

This health care ‘reform’ bill is nothing more or less than communism. It’s a redistribution of wealth from those with ability to those with need. It’s punishing one of the few businesses that has actually weathered this recession. Even in 2009, profits for the five largest health insurance companies rose by 56%. What other industry can say that? Maybe rent-to-own places or check cashers, but not many others.

And before you complain that these profits were made on the backs of the sick, I would remind you that America is based on equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome. If those sick people didn’t want to be the losers in this system, then they should have been health insurance companies. They had that opportunity, but that wasn’t the outcome.
