Lincoln Halts Halter
In a huge victory for Republicans, incumbent Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) has defeated Bill Halter in the primary runoff in Arkansas. She will run against John Boozman (R-AR) in November.
Halter was the darling of the ‘progressive’ crowd and the labor unions, who pumped millions of dollars into Arkansas in an attempt to buy the election. Well, it didn’t work. Lincoln won handily, with a 52:48 victory.
Lincoln, as you may remember, was the deciding vote for cloture in the Obamacare debate, but who eventually voted against Obamacare itself. She’s also generally anti-union and anti-progressive.
So why is this a victory for Conservatives? Well, come November, the newly-elected Senator from Arkansas is guaranteed to be Conservative, no matter who ends up winning. It’s another ‘heads I win, tails you lose’ race in Arkansas.
